Data Collection

Collect fan data with custom forms

Build forms to capture emails, names, phone numbers, and custom questions. Export everything as CSV.

01

Open Data Collection Settings

Go to Dashboard > Fan Cams > select your fan cam > Settings > Data Collection tab.

This tab is where you configure what data fans see on the consent screen.
02

Choose a Quick Preset

Click one of the preset buttons: "Email Only", "Name + Email", "Full Contact", "Sports Event", "Prize Draw", or "Corporate". This instantly populates the form with the right fields for your use case.

03

Or Add Custom Fields

Click "Add Field" to create your own. Choose the field type (Text, Email, Phone, Number, Dropdown, Checkbox), set the label, placeholder, and whether it's required. Up to 10 fields per fan cam.

04

Reorder Fields

Use the up/down arrows next to each field to arrange the order. Fields appear on the fan's screen exactly as ordered here.

05

Save

Click "Save Fields". Your form will appear on the consent screen that fans see before taking their selfie.

06

View & Export Data

Go to "Fan Data" in the sidebar to see all collected responses. Search by email, filter by fan cam, and click "Export CSV" to download everything.

Pro Tips

  • The "Email" field is special — when a fan provides their email, they automatically receive a download link when their photo is approved.
  • Keep forms short. Every extra field reduces completion rate. For most events, "Name + Email" or "Email Only" is enough.
  • Use the "Prize Draw" preset for competitions — it includes name, email, phone, and a required terms checkbox.
  • Old data is preserved if you change the form between events. The CSV export includes all fields from all versions.

FAQ

Is collecting fan data GDPR compliant?

Yes. Email fields include a separate GDPR consent checkbox. All data is stored securely, encrypted at rest, and can be deleted on request via our erasure API. See the Compliance guide for full details.

Can fans skip the form?

Optional fields can be left blank. Required fields (marked with *) must be completed before the fan can proceed to the camera. If no fields are configured, a default optional email field is shown.

Who can see the collected data?

Org admins can see data from their own fan cams. Super admins can see all data. The Fan Data page in the sidebar is accessible to all logged-in users, scoped to their organisation.

What Dropdown options look like for fans?

Dropdown fields appear as a select menu on the consent screen. The fan taps to expand and choose an option. Great for questions like "Which team do you support?" or "How did you hear about us?"
